RAWA started with a simple frustration: we couldn't find a hat that actually breathed.
Between Kuala Lumpur's wet heat and Melbourne's four-seasons-in-a-day, most headwear on the market is built from polyester and acrylic — materials that trap heat, hold odour, and eventually end up in landfill for decades. We wanted something different. Something that moved with the climate instead of fighting it.
RAWA is a Malaysian-Australian label, and that heritage shows up in everything we make. We draw on the tropical know-how of breathable weaves — linen, hemp, organic cotton — and pair it with the technical performance of merino, yak and eri silk sourced from cooler climates. No plastic. No synthetics. Just natural fibre, doing what it's done for thousands of years: keeping people comfortable, outdoors, in whatever the weather throws at them.
We're launching in Melbourne, and we wanted the first hundred people who back us to feel like founders, not just customers. That's where the Founding 100 comes in — early access, before anyone else, to the first RAWA drop.
Built to breathe. Made to last. That's the whole idea.
